Can't get it to work. It may be my funky internet though.
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I enjoyed that repair video too, I put headphones on and caught most of what he said.
But I had a hard time tracking down his eBay auctions, after seeing he has hundreds of violin videos showing them off, obviously to sell.
But I tracked him down, eBay seller "old-violin-international", if you wish to see the current auctions. He's in Portugal but offers free worldwide shipping. And not a single Chinese violin anywhere--he specializes in fixing up old violins, primarily European ones.

Cool. I'm going to go have a look see. I'd love to have an old violin, one of these days.

I have seen that video before, it was related to a violin he had for sale. All his violins for sale has video sound samples (I love to watch his violinist play, you could tell sometimes he does not like the sound). In this video, I was surprised that the luthier did not match the wood grain of the patch to the top plate, perhaps it was done so to prevent further crack?

This is exactly why the grain of the cleat is opposite the grain of the top. If it were to go the same direction it would be very weak. The cleats are very thing.

That video was linked from another site, and some luthiers over there cast some doubt on the technique.
