curious about double violin cases

 I was wondering if anyone had any experience with double violin cases, as well as traveling with them. I am gonna be moving soon and i have 2 violins. I don't really wanna ship my seldom used one as i still love it even if i don't play it much these days, and it could come in handy as i'll be living in close quarters for a while and it's much quieter. I'm debating buying a double violin case. Since i do have to fly has anyone ever gone through the airport with one? 

I've taken my single violin case without a single problem many times but obviously the double would be much bigger i think. oh the conundrums of moving! ah hahahaha oh well. it is fun to go though all the things i've managed to accumulate!

I've used one on a few occasions and managed to bring it on a plane. I think it's up to the discretion of the airline and crew to decide. They are obviously wider than regular oblong cases. :(
