I just received my new violin tonight.  UPS must be working overtime.  Everything looks ok except the two bridges.  The one installed on the violin is flat on the side that faces the fingerboard and curved (convex) on the side that faces the tailpiece.  I looked at the spare bridge and it too is curved.  It seems to me that the bridge on my old violin was straight  and flat on both sides.  Is the curve normal?  dunno

Thanks, Barry.  I'm busy rosining up my bow.  Maybe I'll get to drag it across a string or two tonight.  Tomorrow I'll attempt to make a video.  crossedfingers

Thanks!  I played some scales last night and I'm not at all happy with either bow.  Neither has the right curvature and one of them bounces so badly I can't control it.  The other bounces a little bit.  I contacted Amazon and asked if I can exchange just the bows under the warranty.  I'm pretty sure I can.  Maybe I'll be buying a bow from FiddlerMan in the near future.

Now I have to figure out how to make a video.

True, Barry.  I paid $169.00.  The outfit comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.  I think a lack of curvature might qualify.  We shall see....
