was wondering what the difference was between the fiddle and the violin?also can the same music sound the same on both?i like country music and one of my favorite fiddle players is Roy Acoff and I would like to learn some of his music so I was wondering if it will sound the same on the violin as it would on a fiddle.

The instruments are basically the same. Some people use slightly different equipment, lower and flatter cut bridge, steel strings, but it's all basically the same. The biggest difference is in the style of playing. A good violin (fiddle) is great for any style of music though some may prefer softer more forgiving instruments over the best most optimal bright sounding fiddles.
