Hey, so I recently decided to learn how to play the violin. I want a violin that I can keep for a long time and I am stuck deciding if I should buy a Gliga Gems 2 or Fiddlerman Apprentice Violin.
AsianQtip, Welcome!
First of all, are you buying on the internet or from Gliga's store?
If you are going to keep learning violin and keep your violin for a long time, I would suggest you to get fiddlerman's concert ($399) or even fiddlerman's master violin ($599, why is there a big jump on price and not $499? I don't know) (fiddlerman can pick one for you I believe) then you don't have to upgrade it in near future (like after two years of playing) or may not even have to upgrade it.
I owned a Gliga workshop gem 1. I picked it out from their shop. I tried their Gem 2, Gem 2 elite, gem 1 workshop, gem 1 elite, and one from their professional level. Each violin sound different and the professional one did not sound better than the gem 1 workshop. But when we went to look for a 1/2 size violin, the one we tried on, I believed was a Gem 2 and it sounded very nice and we almost bought it (if she was ready for one then we would have). After I played on my Gliga for two years, I felt like I need an upgrade. That's just my personal opinion.

pky,
I was thinking of buying the Gliga over the internet.
After reading your advice I have decided on buying a Fiddlerman violin. Regrettably, the Fiddlerman Master Violin is out of my budget range, so I am going for the Concert Violin
Thanks so much for advice pky!
