Very interesting departure from the norm.

Not affected by heat and humidity, the ff holes were of different shape and size than 'normally' found in a violin, and the bridge appeared to be of interesting shape but very similiar to the contemporary shape and design. Couldn't get the web site to work completely though, the page with accessories on it wasn't linking so I couldn't see them close up.

Very curious.. would like to hear a sample as well.

I should have said have a close look at the sound 'posts' (plural). They say that there is no sound post setup to do. And they can't fall over thumbs-up Can't be a bad thing.

We aren't driving T Model Fords any more. Maybe we won't be using a 400 year old violin design either dunno

I reckon that I could get int trouble saying that roflol

I'm guessing you are referring to the "soundposts" that are attached to the bridge?

Looks like round feet on the bridge but I can't see it well enough.

I think departures from the normal violin shape and materials is inevitable, and in the end, isn't it all about the sound?

I have a better pic on my iPad but since the site upgrade, I can't attach it. If you have an email address that I can send it to you and you could upload for others to see but I  understand you not wanting to give out that info.

I'll have to wait till I can get back to my PC again before I can post it. It is really worth seeing in my opinion. I am also having trouble pasting anything into a post since the upgrade.

I took a good look at their page, and it all looks good and interesting but the important thing is how they sound and play. I will contact them about whether or not they have a distributor in the US and if they would ship us a demo.
Thanks for the link Ferret

The link was down when I checked... I guess it's out for repair.  I think the subjective experience of "enjoyment" with your violin is such that it may not be possible to arrive at a definite conclusion such as "this one is better than that one".  For many years, perhaps a decade, I wouldn't have traded my $99 musicians' friend guitar for anything in the world, and many people offerred to trade thier $800 Washburn or $900 Gibson.  I think there is something organic in the brain that seasons itself with the instrument, and becomes harmonic with it in a way with a chosen instrument.  Often the more people spend on the instrument, the more it creates dissonance.  A friend bought a $5,000 extremely luxurious estate investment quality violin, and after a while and to his ear, it's "not quite right", and subsequently he's tormented.   While at the same time, other adults I know have been playing thier 4/4 violin since high school, that their uncle gave them (or they got from XX special place, or Dad helped buy it, or [add emotional component here] and hence the violin sounds flawless, priceless and irreplacible.

A question I ask myself is, either, do I want to "Buy The Violin I Love", or do I want to "Love the Violin I Own?"

Another way... to "Have What I Want" or instead to "Want What I Have"?

If you don't "fall in love" with an instrument, try others until you do.  Life is just too short to do otherwise.
