hi everyone im joe i live in the uk im new to playing the violin looking for some help big time,i have a electric violin and no were to put batteries ive got a amp and lead as seen in picture, wen i pluck strings a noise comes through amp but wen i put the bow across the strings no noise comes through .Image Enlarger

Usually a violin that doesn't have a battery doesn't have a control for volume either. I believe that this is where that battery goes.

Well its working, seems as though there was not enough rosin on the bow, after applying it for a good 10 - 15 mins it has started working fine.

That is great to hear. I only wonder what kind of mic that fiddle has anyway since you couldn't find a battery. dazed I've never played on a passive hard bodied electric violin before.
