So yes the violin. I won a violin at auction for a Giuseppe Pedrazzini 1927.
The violin needed sound post, bridge, end button hole fixed, tailpiece, strings, chinrest. Other than the end button hole being really messed up, It is a good violin.
The end button hole was crooked, in that when fitting a button for it, it pointed down and to the right. I tried putting a bushing in it, but the busing fell out when drilling and made the problem worse. I reemmed the hole and it's now straighter, not to far off. I was able to fit the end button and it looks good.
The violin has pitting on the belly and back. The inside label is dusty, very dusty. I found G. Pedrazzini stamp above the label. The year 27 is hand written it looks, plus it has looks like hand written signature of Giuseppe Pedrazzini. But, I have heard about this being stamped on from other Pedrazzini violins who are fake.
So although it looks old and real, I don't know if it is. I do have it playing and like how it sounds. But right now I only have a cheap Brazil wood stick. I did have a silver mounted bow but it don't have hair on it right now. Sounded really well with that bow.

Yes, I have fixed them. Repairing them bringing up to playing condition again. Fixing cracks, open seams, cutting; bridges, pegs, sound posts. Installing the strings and tailpiece, along with chinrests. NO varnish however. I have a violin from 1866 I am trying to sell, and I need put new bridge on it I said to the buyers. I don't think it will sell. I will see about a bridge for it after it don't sell.
I have an old stainer model, a trade instrument. But he looks like higher end trade instrument. I want fix it but have to wait on money.
But I like doing this, fixing those old antique violins. Even the trade instruments like the conservatory violins.
