I trawl a lot of auctions and quite often bid on various musical bits and pieces and just came across this violin, never seen one of these before what does everyone think of this.

Well, same concept as both, but doesn't have the traditional pegbox of either one.
It's like someone stuck a mandolin headstock on a Låtfiol.

must confess I have only glanced at the thread you mention, this does look like one of those fiddles though.I have looked them up and they are quite expensive.
I wont be bidding on this one though, even though the estimate is a couple of hundred, as the fees when added up come to around thirty percent, not only that but it will probably end up going for about 1500 hundred. lovely looking thing, wonder were you would get strings from for it, when they need changing.
