Hi! My violin currently has Alphayue strings. I study and play daily. I travel almost every day to different places with different temperatures and humidity. I've had these strings for 3 months. What happens is that, specifically, the A string is wearing out, unwinding right at its bridge end. Exactly on top. The penultimate string change (with Pirastro Gold) took place in exactly the same place. Is it my bridge? Climate changes? Strings quality? What made me curious is that it was in the same place and on the same string and with a set of from different brands. I emphasize that my bridge is properly adjusted.

There might be a sharp edge in or near the string slot, or it might even just be friction between the bridge and the string as the temperature and humidity changes. Try lubricating the slot in the bridge by marking in it with a soft pencil. If that doesn't stop the wear on the strings, you may need to have a luthier refile the slot. (Note: if the bridge wood is too soft, the strings may have cut into the bridge and the whole bridge may need replacing. But if it's a decent bridge, that shouldn't be necessary.)
