Hey Guys,

Just brought my new violin with its case home, to find that the latch has been closed on the case, and I've no idea how to open it. I was wondering if anyone knows how to open it? There appears to be no key involved. Really want to start playing my new violin! Sorry for the bad image quality, only have a laptop camera :> thanks!

can you send a picture of it? If it looks like a little round nob that you can't press in, try pushing it to either the left or the right. it should release. i know thats the kind of latch on both my violins.

Does the round knob on the bottom press down.  I don't mean press inward but will it slide up or down, or side to side?

I just checked my case that has one like that, it slides down to open, though some might slide left or right.

What kind of fiddle did you get?  Congratulations and have a lot of fun learning.
