I had an opportunity this weekend to visit a violin maker and tried out scores of his used violin bows (it is his practice to separate out bows from obtained violins and most of his clients request new cf bows with violin purchases).  One of the many things that struck me was almost all of the bows I liked best for responsiveness had multiple pin knots throughout the length of the pernambuco stick.  Have others found the same thing?
