I love these threads.  I was in this same position a couple of months ago.  I hadn't yet found fiddlerman.  As a guitar player, i looked at all of the guitar places online and went to many guitar stores in town.  i found the same problems as well.  i ended up going to a local violin shop and had the same experience.  it was great, so i bought something from them.  i am happy with it and wouldn't trade it for anything.  but after spending more time on this forum and watching the reviews, if i had it to do over, i would have bought the cvn from fiddlerman.

even though i'm sure the violin shop would still be some help, i'm sure they would not go to the extremes that i see here.  i've seen nothing but happy costomers on here and all the help and advise you can get.

Absolutely Terry! And if that instrument was in the family a long time I would think the attachment is even stronger.

I kinda feel that way about the 90 yr old German production unit I saved from disaster and certain landfill...I actually catch myself putting it away somewhere safe if I plan on being gone for a day or more and not around to watch it. Almost as bad as a kid.

I think you get used to the little things about it, it becomes friendly and comfortable and you develop a love/hate relationship not unlike a human one.

My woman and I have been together now over 28 yrs and we've had a lot of ups and downs but we figure, why change now. Same thing after you've learned on your first, why change now...

Maybe to a $3.2 Million dollar one if you get famous, but I bet you still keep the first one handy for dinnertime conversation.
