So I am sort of on the fence here, in March I received an email from someone I've been in communication with for almost 10 years almost daily she lives in Canada and I live in Indiana.
She informed me that I had a birthday coming up in three days and there would be a box on my porch that day and not to open it till the 17th of March my birthday.
Sure enough there it was a box on my porch and another the next day that she had not mentioned.
I received 2 escape room puzzle boxes and just about fell off my couch when I opened the last package to find a set of Eva Pirazzi gold strings.
I own 3 playable violins I've been through the wringer of what works and what doesn't, and instruments that I really didn't like.
For 4 years now I've been sticking to Ebenezer so named after Scrooge he was cheap yet looks and sounds like a rather stately instrument and for that time I've stuck to what seems to match up quite well D'addario Ascente.
The D'addario work alright with my other acoustic I've owned for 10 years now but sound a bit more baritone due to the fact that the bridge is a bit too fat and really should be replaced all together both acoustics are built on the strad template.
So my though is one the template really doesn't equate to sound its a template the "F" holes and "C" bouts from my understanding are different on a Guarneri yet even with Ebenezer being a Stradivari he has all the tonal aspects of a Guarneri.
My main concern here to get to the point is I wander how big of a change am I going to have by putting the Pirazzi strings on this instrument?
I mean how much brighter could they be?
Any thoughts are appreciated and thanks for reading.

If my memory is correct, most folks place them warmer than Eve greens but still focused similar to PI Strings, your mileage may vary with your particular instrument. I would think maybe more not thinking bright but in clarity.
And a disclaimer, I may be all wet, but sure worth a try in my book.

Master the Frog and you have mastered the bow.

Thanks for the reply Mark.
I am thinking along the same line more focused than extremely bright.
I had looked at the comparison guide that is posted in this part of the forum as you likely know there are some discrepancies in the description from both of those charts I will have to wait thanks to the fact that one of my fingers got acquainted with my hammer during a home repair.
I have a funny feeling though that I'm going to like the Pirazzi strings.

Good luck, Tim!
Every violin is different so I guess that every match of string and violin is also different. And violin strings are so expensive that it’s not practical to experiment with lots and lots of different string types. Guitar and mandolin strings are way cheaper, easier to switch around.
(I surely do not understand why violin strings are so expensive. Mandolin strings cost 1/2 or 1/3 as much and you get twice as many strings!)
I’m fortunate that my fiddle has relatively inexpensive strings that sound good and stay in tune pretty well.
I hope your new strings work out as well!

@Tim317 -
Is your finger better, yet?
Are you just 'contemplating' trying these because your old strings aren't ready to be changed?
Many people here may not say anything, but I'm sure quite a few (besides myself) will really appreciate your first hand review of how they measure up on one of your violins.
So please try them!

Hi Emily sorry for not getting back to you sooner no I haven't played out my old strings yet.
I can't believe after this long I've still got blood under the fingernail and it still hurts a bit but not enough to stop me from playing.
I'm not so worried now having looked into those gold strings I think they should be may a bit more pronounced that my cheaper D'Addario strings and I put the last new set of those on my main instrument.
I really need to get something done with a new bridge for my Gliga as I can certainly tell a huge difference in the sound of it and Ebenezer.
As soon as I get to these Pirastro gold's I'll leave my thoughts on them.
