Currently working on getting badges to show up horizontally. Should hopefully figure that out within a week. Thanks for your patience.

I brought this up in chat a little bit ago, and I still think it would be fun to have everyone show off their instruments in one thread.
So show us your baby - or babies. Give us pictures if you can, and tell us the backstory of the violins you play: where you got them, why you like them, why you don't like them (although it would be silly to play on something you don't like, unless you're poor like me), even their names if they have one. I'd really love to see what everyone here is playing on.
I don't have pictures taken of mine yet or I would go first. So if someone wants to jump in, that would be awesome.

Nice tread.
Well, first off there's Kattekreket. Kattekreket is my first violin, and he has a special place in my heart. I bought him of a seller in Norway, without knowing anything about violins. Totally green, I though any violin would do. So I just bought one of the cheapest violins I could find. So wrong could I be. He's maybe not a fine old violin, but he's a violin with soul. And though the year I've owned him, he has grown just as much as me. With him I've learned alot and devoleped a new interest and passion. He sort of have his own mind, and gets really whiny if I do something he doesn't like. I don't have many good pictures of him, unfortunately, but I'll put up the okay picture I took for not so long ago.
So it's Cory. I bought Cory from Pierre 4 months after Kattekreket come to my life. The reason why I bought him was I wanted a violin that I could work on, but still have a reasonable violin to play. He's a little smoother in sound then his brother. A little more shy and careful, but still have a powerful voice. He's very fun to play on, and it's always nice to tune him up to play him again and again. Wonderful violin which I hopefully will have for years to come.
So to my little diva, and her name is Fiolina. Not a creative name, since fiolina means "The violin.", but the name suits her in so many ways. She's also from Pierre's shop. She has a huge voice and sounds brilliant. She's beautiful, and she knows it. Very kind and passionate violin, who always give it all and do her best. Very forgiving and straight forward type. Easily jealous and always sick for attention. "You haven't played me for like two hours now. Drop that damn thing and pick me up!" Yup, that's Fiolina in a nutshell.

Thanks for your post.
Doesn't really matter whether you're using just Gry or both the names.

My first is a Föhnwind – an inexpensive starter violin. But after new strings, new bridge, and a soundpost adjustment it sounds pretty good! This has become my backpacking violin, and it goes with me to campouts. We call her Guido (no idea why…. Just looks like a Guido!)
Next is my Fiddlerman Solosit – love this one! It makes me want to be a better player so I can do it justice! No name for this one – but my husband calls it my Ferrari.
Finally is my Cecilio electric. We travel a lot, so if it’s not a hiking trip I take this one along, as it is hotel room friendly (don’t want to wake the neighboring rooms with my early morning practice) My friends think the design is sexy, so everyone calls her carmen electra !

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
