I checked, too, my strings look like they have an O at the end and i assumed it is loop not ball.
Sounds like you do have loop ends - the ball is very obvious, all gold and shiny

Fiddlerman and Catmccall, thank you so much for all your help, I now know I need to get ball ends:)
so, loop is the string itself twisted into a loop, and a ball is string wrapped around a ball (in a groove in the middle of the ball, btwm the ball does has a hole so the whole thing looks like a bead)?
Is my understanding correct?

thank you! I will go ahead and order them:) and will report how I like them. Right now I'm doing some recording just to document the steel sound that produce by the steel strings that come with my violin. That way, I will have a way to compare them.
Is it possible that the sound post makes my violin sound louder? i used to be able to hear echo on the lower strings, now I hear it on A & E as well.
The shoutbox, I guessed I thought about it this morning -- would the old messages disappear after certain existence, and then they disappeared. LOL
Almost like when I was pregnant with my daughter, I thought "won't it be nice to have a new year baby, oh no, there come my new year baby - two months too early!

Yes, change one at a time and make sure the string is tightened enough to support your bridge before moving on to the next string. These fiddles are real finicky.
Fiddlerman has a great video on changing strings if you have not watched that yet. The over and under technique (prevents slipping) which is the same way that I learned on guitar many moons ago. You may even want to bring your violin into a luthier to do it for you so you can see first hand. Or maybe a Skype lesson with Fiddlerman? Cause those Dominants that you bought are expensive strings. By the way pky, I got my violins today. I canceled my visit to my local luthier today because I found out my Dominants don't come in until tomorrow and I am going to have the luthier change my strings. I had a heck of a time changing out my Cecilio strings.
