@JohnG -

That was LOVELY!

I was wondering what you thought about using the bows that came with the Traveler?

Glad you're enjoying this & appreciate all you share!

@ABitRusty, @ELCBK, and @Mouse thanks for the kind words. I am enjoying learning a bit of the violin, but have a little trouble going back and forth between treble clef and alto clef. Also the difference in interval spacing does sometimes get to me. It's interesting though that I almost feel like my hand "scrunches up" when playing the violin, so it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Emily, I've only been using the CF bow and it does seem tinier than the viola bow, though I haven't actually measured or weighed to compare to mine.

Today I received the THREE shoulder rests that now accompany The Traveler. I will be sure and send them along with it when I finally relinquish control. In the meantime, I will continue using the slightly modified viola shoulder rest as it is performing well for me.

I hope to get another violin video out later this week after I finally finish my entry for the City or boat party on the viola.

I was wondering if you received them. That is funny. I am pleased that viola rest is working so well for you.

Almost a month later, here is my latest video using The Traveler. This is Down by the Sally Gardens and it comes 5 months after my recording on Maureen (my viola).

@JohnG -

Very nice! 🤗

Are you finding Violin any easier to play, now?

Really sounded GREAT!

Thanks for sharing!

@ELCBK - Thanks and it's getting easier, though I have an interesting situation. When I play, I have to remove my left hearing aide. Apparently, I get some feedback so it really sounds bad, but when I record those overtones don't exist!

That was great, @JohnG. You seem to have a knack for both the violin and viola.

@JohnG

Really good playing on that!  Nice job on adding ornaments!  I think I like it better on the violin. . . but I’m biased laugh

Found this thread with folks talking about hearing aids & the violin—not an uncommon occurrence.

@SharonC - Thanks for both the boost and the reference link. I'll have to remember the music setting when I next go back to the VA for a hearing aid check!

@JohnG - You sound like you're not only enjoying it more but like you have passed over to the light side.

@Fiddlerman - Loved having the opportunity to try this out and proud to have become a Traveler host. However, much as I've enjoyed it, the viola is still my fave!

As I get ready to pass it on to @SharonC, starting to prepare it for shipment. First task has been to create a sticker for the case.
