Wow! How did I miss this thread?
Great idea guys!
Maybe if we have European members interested (Naska, Alma etc but think shipping to or from Europe to the Us is expensive, maybe if I cover the Intercontinental shipping costs then the others just worry about the Euro-shipping.
We would just need to organise it with me being the last to receive it, and add a picture/video of it being played on the steps of Buckingham Palace of course (before the Royal security move in!!
I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

Terry I will cover shipping TO Europe if you cover it back. I originally thought I was going to have to cover both over and back but if you are willing to assist I will NOT deny you! lol
The plan, in case you didn't catch it, is for the Violin to make a North America Run before heading over seas. The only person I'm trying to figure on how we'll get it to is Mr. Ferret. But I am sure we'll figure it out.
Thanks again for the Support Terry.

@Diane. You send me a PM with your shipping info.
Once again I will put it out there that this project is already under way so ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PARTICIPATE must send me their shipping info via PM here on the forums and I will post who is next who is on deck and who is in the hole (Next in line then 2nd and 3rd) On the Forums so people will know when they are getting close. I will also send the next 3 people in line a PM telling them what position they are in, in the Que.

Hey Pierre, there's a question that I just thought of last night -
I remember you saying that there are people who've signed onto FM just to win something, then once they have, they're gone, never to be seen again.
And I may sound like an ass for asking this question, but I haven't expressed this concern before so I thought I'd ask it... should there be any sort of tenure rqmt to be on the list? Everyone who is active on Forum is really loyal to our community and would never be opportunistic with this gear.... I don't know if anyone is concerned about putting it into the hands of anyone off the street (like Fb); this violin is not a piece of crap,,, it's actually a decent beginner violin.
Just had to ask; is everyone in the world eligible to custody this instrument? Apologies if I sound like a d-bag!

I myself am a regular, but I have not really contributed much. I think to be on the list (as this will eventually take some time to make its way around) you should have contributed to at least 2 "concert" pieces where you send in your video to be used in the community projects. At least that way it does show a commitment to everyone here and sort of an investment in yourself with trust in the all the other active players about your additions at whatever level of skill you play.

Very good ideas Leo and Diane,,, I think Dennis should consider,,,, yeah, NO credit card though, lmao!
Okay, so this morning,,, with a HUGE hangover, and no warm-up, I quickly ripped off two vids so that I could get them posted asap and be done with them. I tried to add them to the Traveling Fiddle page,,, with NO luck; can't copy-n-paste nor drag-n-drop onto the page. So I thought I might as well attach them to this thread, then anyone can do with them whatever the want.

Okay,it's been a rough morning, lol, just realized I can upload to YouTube and attach links

Another thought, Diane can just hand deliver it to everyone. She can bring it, oversee the upkeep, packaging and general care of the instrument. She can video you playing it and show you previous players with insight to their creativity and accomplishments.
just a thought
Oh, i was also thinking, i am sure there may be some here who would like to participate but be worried about the expense of shipping a violin to England, Russia, Romania, Detroit . If worked out ahead of time, there might be someone close to you where postage is not too big of a problem or a hand delivery meeting in the middle somewhere might be available. Knowing this community, people would probably get together and assist in shipping/packing charges or even show up to pick it up for those not so able financially.
