Thanks to Pierre for editing my video and replacing it with the YouTube video, after I figured out how to do that! Now to buy a real video camera that hopefully makes much better videos than the digital camera I used.... It's probably extremely obvious I'm brand new to all this video stuff.   embarassed

And thanks to Pierre, the map pin is now working (on the other Traveller page). I just added my location on the map.

I just mailed Traveller off to Fifi La Fume in B.C., Canada. Postal clerk said "6-10 days" expected travel time. It was expensive to mail--all you Canadians who want to receive Traveller should arrange to get it before it's sent back to the USA.

For the two people who asked me what tune I was playing on my video, it's Arkansas Traveler--much abbreviated, played with no repeats.   smile

Thanks for investing the expense of shipping the fiddle to Canada. Very kind of you.

Calling ALL Canadians, please sign up for your interest in testing the fiddle and putting a mark on the map for your area.

Steve, did you take any cool pictures? Did you sign the fiddle.

I would like for everyone that has the fiddle to take pictures with cool backgrounds. Example if the fiddle is in Paris, we want the Eiffel Tower in the background, In Stockholm, we would want the Stockholm Castle.....

Even a famous place from a movie or TV show.....

Yes, I did sign the fiddle. I took some pictures of the scenery from my backyard (big snowy hills a couple of miles away)--those are in my Folder on the USB stick in the Traveller case.

Great Steve,

I would love to post them on the Traveling-Fiddle Page too. :-)

If you send at least one to me I'll do that. Any picture with you and the fiddle or the fiddle with background from your area.thumbs-up

How many Canadian Fiddlers do we have? We might have to spam some old members to get some action out of this fiddle in Canada.

wow, this is going fast! i was thinking if i got it in sometime this summer i could take it with me on a road trip to ontarionand then cross over to the us in minnesota and send along from there to cut down on the cross-border shipping, but that may not work after all.

in any case, i and my daughter would love to make it onto the canadian tour....  although feel free to tack us on to the latter part of the canadian trip, if you like as we don't even have an instrument to practice on right now. -one is with another family member at present and the one i ordered recently for my daughter won't get here til sometime in march.  -so i'm afraid our video would be pretty horrifying!  lol.

anyway, we are in saskatchewan.  and, as i understand there is another member just a couple hours north of us in saskatoon (helvetika) as well.

if that helps....

Yes where is she.  We all miss her.  After my main computer drive crashed I lost her email so I can't email her. If someone has her email please send her a note and tell her we miss her.

I miss NoirVelours as well. I enjoyed her videos so much, they were very well done and always made me smile.

I was thinking of her at Christmas time and wondering if she ever got to play for her family at Christmas as she had planned. I know she was keeping her playing a secret from them until Christmas. I wonder how her son is getting along too with the violin he received.

I hope she is doing well and she reads this post.

Alrighty Folks!  So Far the Traveler has been a Success so hooray for the fiddlerman community!

However, As it stands the next shipment will wind up going from BC Canada all the way to Alabama!  We need more people either in Canada or in Middle America to get on board with this (Preferably Both) :D   So please PM your shipping info so we can get you on the list and save some of our members from outrageous Shipping costs :)

@dionysia, Kevin and Fifi: I just sent NV a PM, figuring that she'll get a notification in her e-mail inbox. We'll see if she resurfaces!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

Maybe we can give it a little more time. Did Fifi get the violin yet?

I'm alive, I got your notification.

I made my videos private on YouTube, I think my natural shy nature came back with huge clogs and I was not able to show other videos. I also was not able to play for my family for Christmas I was feeling like my violin was not good enough. My godmother knows my little secret though, she told me to keep practicing and play before them only when I feel like I will enjoy it.

On a positive side, I'm waiting for Early Fiddler Music to be shipped and revising all what I learned until it's here!

Need to read what this is about now lol traveling fiddle?

Perfect. You need to request the traveling fiddle while it's in Canada. Crossing the border is expensive. If nothing else just to test it, tell us about it, sign it, and take a picture with it. No biggie :-)
You'll get to see how this fiddle (I've never tried it) compares to yours too.

Ok I'm back at home from worky worky. Steve and I tried to hook up and do a fiddle transfer, buit I got hooked up in a work project and was in detroit of all places... far from my beloved Willlamette Valley here in Oregon. I should be pretty stable (as in no road trips for a few months) When the Instrument gets back around to West Coast, Sign me up. Pierre already has my address, But I'd be happy to send it to whoever else needs it.

Great play Steve!

Welcome back NoirVelours, as you can read you've been missed! clap

I understand the shy nature thing! I suffer from it too! What is up with that anyways? I wish we could just forget about being judged and just go for it like you did in the past. Argghh it's tough though, I know.

I'm just glad you are back, healthy and you are still playing along with your son. That is just wonderful.

Thank you Diane for contacting NoirVelours for us, it is great to see she is alive and well.

This sounds like a whole lotta fun!  I'm totally in for signing up and will let VK know the shipping details.  I don't know if any other members exist in the western provinces but if so, hopefully they will sign up as well.  SunshineB and I have already corresponded and have decided that we will do a handoff since we only live a couple hours apart.

Then, since I am "technologically impaired", I'll have to enlist the help of my daughter for video!
