The Traveller is now in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada!  It was sitting quietly on my doorstep when I got home from work today.  Luckily it didn't walk away on me....yikes I hate to think of that!

It will be going to Moose Jaw next to Sunshine B.  I was just in MJ awhile ago and got there and back before another storm blew in as the highway got closed later.  Yikes again.  We all have the snowing sickness in Sask!

But, if anyone is ever in Moose Jaw, I highly recommend stopping at Fellinger's Meats and buying their bratwurst!  I bought a whole box!  haha!

@sunshineb I'm in Minnesota, mostly.   I travel frequently between Fargo, ND and Minneapolis, with occasional visits to Minot, ND.   (Why not Minot?  Freezin's the reason).

So, no, I wasn't really in Saskatchewan, in case you missed it, that was a reference to "Corner Gas" where any mention of the fictional town of Wullerton is met with spitting on the ground in disgust.  I would have expected everyone in Saskatchewan would know this. ;)

I know I'm new here and don't expect to be able to just budge in line if there are people expecting it next.  If this is expected to travel world-wide it may be a while before it's this close again.

Old Crow - we are trying to go geographically I think. PM VinceKnight if you want to be on the list. Now that it is in Canada, it should make the rounds of the Canadian members before crossing the border again... unless you will be heading up to wullerton [phht].

I loved that show!

There is a link to VinceKnight to PM him with all your information. You should definitely get the fiddle before it moves far away.

lol @OldCrow ....i hate that show!! but you're right, everyone else here loves it so i have to keep my opinions to myself unless i have a hankering for a good tar and feathering session!!  ;)

my parents live a spitting distance from international falls, mn.  we are planning a trip there at the end of june.  -it'll probably already will have passed through my hands by then, but in the off chance it hasn't we could definitely try to plan a hand-off if there's no other canadians in the que.

just thinking that (see above) would be a neat time for the traveller to cross the border in any case....

it could spend July 1st at some Canada Day celebrations and then enjoy the 4th of July back at 'home' in the USA!

@sunshineb Yes!  A live hand-off would be really fun!    If anyone else in the area pops up between now and then, they would be more than welcome to join us.

International Falls is perfect!   I've been thinking I'd like to take a violin on a BWCA trip and this would be an excellent opportunity for that.   The Boundary waters, Quetico, Voyagers - one of my favorite places on earth.

I'm in no hurry to acquire the travelling violin,  I've only been playing for about a month so I could use all the practice I can get before I'll be obligated to subject the viewing public to my playing ;)

I sent VinceKnight a PM but haven't heard anything yet so I'm not sure of any schedule.

Calling all "Advanced Members" and people who have typically been here for a long time (Relatively speaking).

I am in great need of some assistance!  Things here in Ohio have gotten extremely complicated recently and I need someone who can back me up and/or take over the logistical organization of this project.  My time is being cut short by a number of things including picking up more hours at work because the Boss's husband appears to be dying.  As well as having to Tear apart and re-build my car.  Given these facts as well as several other things that are coming up I'm losing the time I would set aside for organizing this project and don't feel like I can continue to run this effectively.

So please if you are willing and able to run the organization of this project (Mostly determining who will be next in line to receive the traveler and what the most efficient route will be)  Then contact me by PM here or e-mail at Lost_in_the_wild@yahoo.com

Really sorry for having to bail on running this but things have gotten exceedingly complicated and I have to dedicate more and more of my time to other things.  I should still be able to consult but I'm not sure how often I will be able to do this.

I'll do it if no one else wants to. I have someone in mind but would like that person to answer to my PM first.

Hey Cindy,

How's it going with the violin? We are all super curious about it. Do you have any pictures to share? Information about where you have played it or been with it so far? What's the next destination? Make sure to sign the fiddle before shipping it smile

Michelle, you live in the same city as Cindy. Can't you guys get together and do a hand-off? I haven't heard anything from Cindy in a while. After you are done with it I think OldCrow would be the right guy to get it geographically.

Don't know what Dennis's plans are though......

hey there!

yes, Cindy and I have been in touch.  we don't live in the same town -about 2 hours apart or so, but sounds like we should be able to work something out within the next week or two.

Old Crow lives fairly close to my parents who are on the Canada/Minnesota border. I'll be heading out that way the end of June/beginning of July, so hopefully it will work out to meet up with him as well.  if not, I will at least be able to avoid cross-border shipping charges as I can send it off from my parents' US shipping address.

lookin forward to the experience!  :)

109_5469.JPGImage Enlarger Had fun meeting Cindy (aka helvetika) today as she was in town visiting relatives.

She popped over to make the special delivery and we took advantage of the beautiful weather to get in a bit of a visit on the patio and pose for a pic or two with the soon-to-be world traveller.  Cindy tried out sharayahb's fiddlerman cf bow and also graciously agreed to play audience as my daughter and I scratched out a couple of tunes (??!) on the electric violin.

My daughters and I are impressed with the traveller already -love the sound of her!  So glad we were about to take advantage of this great opportunity.  Thanks, again, to those who got the ball rolling on the project!  Looking forward to browsing through the pics and records of her journey thus far.

Will try to keep you all in the loop as much as we can!  :)
