My curiosity got the best of me.  How come you might be a miner ( in Perth? ).  Or do you mean a "minor" ??  And how would that enhance a career as a luthier ?  I give up dazed

Perth is known for our resources. It's the only thing we have. Most of our resources go into Eastern state cities though. And I meant miner as in I'm studying Mining Engineering. It wouldn't enhance my career as a luthier, it's totally unrelated. It's just a good career opportunity based on the price I have to pay for a new bridge ==. Sooooo any luthiers want to come to lil ol perth?

I am surprised with Google to find all the mining going on in Perth AND the apparent shortage of labor.

Now I will be wondering about the geological conditions that would have caused the deposits ?

Chinny and was that Mad_wed's ?? bridges were probably cut with vertical grain instead horizontal grain according to the way they snapped into halves vertically. When bridges were cut with vertical grain, if one or more strings had too much tension, they might snapped.

Bridges usually are cut with horizontal grain.
