World Fiddle Day lands on May 17th this year!
Look to see what festivities are happening in YOUR neck of the woods!
I haven't checked Michigan, yet... still in no shape to go anywhere at the moment.
There's a big festival in County Kerry, Ireland (Scartaglin) - be great if you get a chance to immerse yourself in Sliabh Luachra fiddling tradition!

World Fiddle Day is SATURDAY, the 17th!!!
History of the Holiday
The holiday was established in 2012 by Irish violinist Caoimhin Mac Aoidh from County Donegal. The date was chosen to honor the anniversary of the death of Antonio Stradivari, the famous Italian master whose instruments are considered among the best in the world.

She was inducted into the North American Fiddlers' Hall of Fame as the New York State representative and received a Heritage Award from Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) in recognition of her dedication to preserving the region's musical traditions.
