I checked this, but the time zone is definitely a problem to me. Almost all interesting cello workshops will be in the middle of the night! 😭 I just read that they will be recorded, but it’s maybe not exactly the same feeling to be a part of this.

I didnt ask a question after the fact but there is a place in each workshop to do that. also, almost every one of these fiddlers that ive emailed through their provided links have responded. In some cases have provided sheet music, so there would definatley be a way to ask a question later. If that is all that is holding you back maybe consider that or email Dave Reiner at their website and ask him directly about how that would work. There really is alot of great content.

Virtual jams. Hmmmm! That should be interesting.
Has anyone tried it yet?
yes but its really more of a play along with who is hosting more than a jam.. The latency would make an all out jam very interesting. The "jams" were cool but the various workshops are makes this event more valuable i think.

I am signed up--Lots of stuff on the schedule. Glad they're going to have a video library access afterwards. I figure with all that stuff, I ought to learn me something about the fiddle

Hey, Thanks @ABitRusty !
Didn't know they were showing any workshops early!
I signed up, but haven't loaded the whoova app, yet. I'm TOTALLY exhausted from this past week of preparing Easter fun for the Grandkids. 😵
🤔 Haven't even gone thru to choose what workshops I really want to concentrate on, either.
Glad you signed up @SharonC !
Nice that at least the 3 of us will be able to discuss our experiences with this April's Fiddle Hell. 🤗

Just had the most amazing day at the Online
Fiddle Hell Festival!
Watched 8 hours of LIVE, interactive, Fiddling workshops
and asked questions!!!
Here's what I chose for the day:
♥ Learned tips and cleared up some mysteries at a Jam of
Nordic Tunes with Vidar Skrede!
♥ Learned a Simple Tune from Rogaland, Norway -
also from Vidar Skrede!
♥ Learned a Latin Fiddle Tune - Call and Response, tips/info and some great
history with Jesus Florido (he has a Glasser 6 string)!
♥ Learned 2 great Traditional Tejano Conjunto Fiddle tunes and
tips from Belen Escobedo!
♥ I acquired some Groove With Charanga Riffs taught by Skye Steele!
♥ Learned some iconic Jazz Manouche, Gypsy Jazz tunes and
tips with Duane Padilla!
♥ A Little history, listened to a few Scandinavian Polska, then learned a
really nice one of them from Vidar Skrede!
♥ Also learned about Improv and Variations on fiddling
with Rodney Miller!
All this was only the tip of the iceberg!
... tomorrow's another day in Fiddle Hell (it's really Fiddle Heaven)! 🤗

You can STILL sign up/register for Fiddle Hell!
3 days left of LIVE events online.
What I watched was just a fraction of what was available to learn!
It's definitely worth it, even if you can't watch live
(you can still email questions)
3 months to watch & learn from hundreds of workshops with downloadable
handouts of supportive sheet music and music information!
...and concerts!
...btw, I keep all my privacy (my preference) and I don't enable my camera since I want to be more of an observer this time, but I do ask LIVE questions (chat box or LIVE audio). 🤗

Day 2 of Fiddle Hell!
I picked 8 HOURS of great LIVE Fiddling, Friday!
Here's what I chose for the day:
♥ Learned about some great tunes at the "Slow Scottish Jam"
with Barbara and Robert McOwen!
♥ Improved my bow hold and bowing technique for a great
Irish tune with Caitlin Warbelow!
♥ Learned a fabulous Scottish March
from Hanneke Cassel!
♥ Tried my hand at some Double Shuffle Bowing for the
"Buck Fever Rag", with Dave Reiner!
♥ Learned about Bowing for Rhythm and Groove
with Alex Hargreaves!
♥ Watched and listened to some great Irish music by
Kevin Burke - he played requests!
♥ Learned Timefeel & Ornaments for a Scottish Strathsbey
from Hanneke Cassel!
♥ My Ear Training came in handy as I learned
a microtonal, Turkish Violin Tune
from Beth Bahia Cohen!
♥ Finally, I had the pleasure to learn a hauntingly beautiful
Swedish Polska from Lena Johnson -
as the Sun was rising in Sweden!
(no, this isn't Sweden)
Can't wait for Day 3 of Fiddle Hell!
- Emily

@SharonC @ABitRusty @ELCBK and all -
Yup - just a quick browse and caught my name mentioned by one or other of you - I can't' use Zoom here with any reliability, but I'll keep my eye on what's going on via reports on the forum - cool.
TY for the mention though !
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
