It always comes down to money and oil companies. Pay the least they can and make it look like they are doing something great for everyone.
I don't know that it will help, but then they don't know I can only play twinkle, sending a note that I will not attend but I will do it even if to jam up their mailbox.

It's really sad to see the filth of Malaysian politics spilling over to tarnish even the world of music. Unfortunately, it's not a simple matter of corporate greed pulling the rug from under the arts. Petronas is a state owned company thus they follow a decades long (since 1969 actually) practice of appointing people to important positions not based on their ability to do the job well but instead on race, religion and how good they are in following orders from the top. These orders are usually driven by the all important motives of staying in power and lining their pockets.
I'm sorry if this sounds like a political rant, but I must tell you that being an ethic minority in this country i've always had the sh*t end of the stick shoved on me. It's hard to fathom that we still have racism enforced by law in 2012. Yes that's true! Most people outside the country don't know this fact.
This news about the MPO posted here is the first time I've seen it. No surprise here that there's been a news blackout. There's been no updates since August.
I just feel so disgusted, disappointed, sad, angry and frustrated at the same time. Hopefully my first violin lessons next wednesday will cheer me up.
