I wasn’t thinking about creating a youtube channel and gathering people to watch.
To post a video of your playing for assistance on this site, you create a youtube and post the link. That was the only purpose I was considering it. I have decided against it and will just record myself and see where I need to fix things up.

Vimeo might be an option for you. Similar with less advertisement and it doesn't have an attachment to the Google ecosystem. To get something that you like you might end up paying a small amount.
I am seriously considering Vimeo. The video quality looks better to me..although it's tough to dress up ugly( I'm referring to myself here). Not too many people seek out an average looking guy squeaking on a violin as an adult beginner. Might be more interesting to watch grass grow. I really don't loose any sleep at night wondering if someone downloaded one of my videos. If I were going to make something I was really proud of I might use Vimeo instead. Just me....YouTube isn't the devil from hell 
I reclassified a bunch of my YouTube videos as "unlisted" because they weren't really all that good and I didn't particularly want to share all of my train wrecks with the rest of the world.

One option is to post your videos but have them unlisted. Only the people with the address would be able to see them. Like us 😁
And most of us are respectful and harmless as we understand how difficult string instruments are to play.
