I used to play this instrument at one time and may start again if I can get somewhere quiet to play. My original drum had a celtic knot painted onto the skin which took me 3 months to do, alas the knot came undone when I stood on it one  night when I was  drunk, didnt do the Bodhran much good unfortunately,
