I tried about 5 times today to do a search here in the forum, both simple and advanced, and I keep getting this screen after a long wait.
Notice at the bottom of this screen shot, it says "This site is experiencing technical difficulties."

Might have been a glitch when you did it..I'm not getting any errors and have results returned. Fyi

Just tried it again. Strange...I only get that error when searching for Bruce Molsky. Any other word, phrase I put in works fine.

I was able to do searches for Bruce Molsky with and without using the advanced search features. Just an FYI.

Thanks, cid. I tried restarting my browser, clearing the browser history and cache, and I still can't do it. I still get that screen I posted above. Must be something on my side, but it's funny I can do other searches as long as they are not for Bruce Molsky! Must be some kind of omen.

@MoonShadows Ok. I just did another regular search and got the screen you have. Mine said a few more were found because he has been mentioned in this thread. There are options for page 1 and 2.If you choose page two, you will see the results.

Same as you @Mouse. Only page 2 of results can be loaded (meaning you miss half of them, probably).
EDIT : however, if you use the advanced search and check "match all words" (meaning you're looking for posts mentioning bruce molsky and not just "bruce" or just "molsky"), you get 14 results and it works fine.
I haven't tried with just "Molsky".
And now I'll have to go find out who that guy is.

I had it set to match all words and search topic and posts and they show up. This should get you all of bruce molsky. I think the search engine gets bogged down if you are not specific with what you want because there are many years’ worth of posts here. Just a thought. Works every time when I have it match the exact words searched, bruce molsky, and do topic and threads. It does work when specific like this.

@Irv First time I have ever had a problem with the Search. It has always worked well for me...well, at least it returned results, not errors.

Unfortunately, the Search function for the WordPress forum plugins are not real targeted, so you still have to wade through the results. Is that what you mean, @Irv ?

I find the search process very hit or miss, with mostly no results. I end up wading through the old threads to find what I want.

The way I get the best results is to use the Advanced Search and choose:
All forums
Match all words
Posts and topic titles
I don't know what is going on with yours Jim, but let me know if it persists.
