From Wikipedia.... What a mix of nationalities......
"Yehudi Menuhin, Baron Menuhin, OM, KBE (22 April 1916 – 12 March 1999) was an American violinist and conductor who spent most of his performing career in the United Kingdom. He was born to Russian Jewish parents in the United States, but became a citizen of Switzerland in 1970, and of the United Kingdom in 1985. He is often considered to be one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century"
A brief history of the man, even if it is not the right answer
I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

First I thought it may be the author of the song from Titanic but then I looked him up and it wasn't. Osama kinda give's name's away with initial's.
Seem's as though there are only a few people playing this game anymore, but his name is..........
Wallace Hartley. It was quite a find, recovering the actual violin belonging to Hartley.

All do honesty...Fiddlerman is right. There are more of us playing, but most of us do not have the "mental library" that the three or four of you have. I watch everyday and take a guess when I have an idea. But to me, getting the answer right isn't the fun. It is the googleing and wikipedia-ing...it is the pursuit of the answer. Because everytime I do not know that person, (which is just about everytime...lol) I learn quite a bit about that violinist just from my "attempt" to find the right answer. So, yes, most of us may not have the right answer, but it is still fun regardless and I love this thread...great reserach fodder...lol.
