It’s been a couple of months since my previous progress video. (If we don’t take into account that Dotzauer etude I posted as an unfinished... Still working with it, but it’s almost done!) I feel that everything is improving very fast now.

I have practiced this piece a lot and I’m actually quite satisfied with it now. There is couple of super annoying scratches when I accidentaly hit the next string, but I know they will disappear when I’ll practice a little bit more. 😊

Next step could be to play this with the accompaniet. It would also help me with intonation, so I’m eager to give it a try! I have never played anything with live accompaniet, I very much blame the covid-19...

Very nice, @Ilona! You look so relaxed and it shows in your playing. I am enjoying watching and listening to you progress. I say “watching and listening” because your relaxing appearance and posture and fingering are so visible and noticeable,  and I am so impressed!

Thank you ever so much for sharing your journey with us. You really add so much to this forum with you progression.

@Ilona  - Woohoo Jump EmoticonsI don't think you'll have trouble with stage fright anymore!

I sure hope hope everything keeps going so well - maybe covid time was good for inner reflection!

I go a little crazy if I don't have some way of at least checking my playing against a video or sound bite.

I saw several piano performances of this available on YouTube.  Could playing along, listening to one of those be helpful before you play with live accompaniment?

This video should still apply to cello - talks about how you need to adjust your intonation when playing with piano accompaniment - hope it can help you prepare.

Can't wait to hear more to from you!

Ilona,

Nice job!  It's obvious the time you spend practicing--I think you've found your groove.  Beautiful piece--

Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.

Thank you so much @ELCBK  and @SharonC!

Actually I have tried to find some video from Youtube that I could use as a backtrack for this piece. I have played couple of pieces with that kind of virtual accompaniet earlier, there is many good accompaniets for example for Suzuki pieces. The problem with this piece is that I can’t find just the piano part for this so I have to try to play along with somebody else. I found one really good cello+piano version, maybe I should try that. 🤔

I really feel that I have found my passion. I love playing the cello with all of my heart! ❤️ I can’t explain how it feels, but I have never experienced so much emotions with anything else.

I tried to play along with that one youtube-video today. Well, it was not bad at all! I'm a little annoyed that I can't choose the tempo myself, but playing this way will probably help me a lot for preparing to live accompaniet.

Ilona

Seems I missed this earlier some how,

Nicely played, and mouse is correct, you look relaxed when playing, well done.

Enjoyed that,

Mark

Yup, me too @Ilona - I missed the post until it re-appeared with Mark's previous comment - well done on what is (to me) a difficult piece to bring expression and feeling into - you did well there - and thanks for sharing your progress !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
