I know it's very, very raw, but I had nothing to record with other than my PS Vita. VGA cameras are terrible, but at least I got to record something, right?
This video shows a bit of my progress in learning to play the fiddle. I've been playing for ~2 years and just got this violin last week. It's a Nhureson IV Allegro, for those of you who might be asking yourselves.
I know I still have a long way to go with the violin, but it's an instrument I doubt I'll ever let go.
The song in the back was made by me on FL11, and it's the Battle Theme (or Battle Scene) theme from Final Fantasy I. Used to play that on my wonderswan, nice game it is.
Any constructive criticism will be accepted. Thanks!

Good job.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

That's really good! I wish I could relax my left hand the way you do. I don't even do vibrato because of my tension.

The only thing I would point is the bow. Try to put some hand weight without creating tension. This will make the sound more clear and round :)

Thanks, Elisa! I've got a big problem with the bow. Perhaps being a guitar player, keeping my hand in the same place most of the time, has stiffened me up a bit for that, but I'll keep practicing and hopefully will get it eventually. :)

You did a great job!  I'm gonna have to try learning it now!

All I can say, since you're way above me in skill level, is compared to the original there are a few places that could be a bit more staccato.

keep it up!

I have no critique to give because I basically know nothing yet, but --- OH MY GOD, FINAL FANTASY. This made my day, and also made me realize that I need to find some sheet music for Nobuo Uematsu's other compositions for the Final Fantasy series. I won't be able to play them yet, but that is definitely a goal for the future. FUN!

@iamnotanoctopus Thanks, person that is totally not an octopus! XD (Would that be an Octodad reference, by the way? love that game.)

I suggest you listen to this:

Ha, it actually isn't, but I get asked that a lot now. I've been using this handle for a good ten years (and still, nobody suspects a thing). It was just something random I came up with to avoid using numbers and underscores.

And I will absolutely listen to that! I love FF, my ringtone is the Chocobo theme. This will give me a break from listening to One Winged Angel on repeat, I suppose.
