Greetings! I've been learning violin for a year (mostly self-taught).

My interest is in jazz standards, with improvisation.

In the spirit of sharing, here's a video of me playing 'The Way You Look Tonight'

Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

P/S: Pardon the facial expressions though.

Hi and welcome.

nice playing, but I would suggest that you let your right wrist float so as to bow straighter.

With violins there is no fretting over the music.

@Fran @OldOgre Thanks for your kind words. I will work on bowing straight, by bending the wrist more.

I wonder if there is any jazz standard song request though?

So many nice things about your playing. You definitely have a feeling for music.
I believe you should focus on your right arm for now. You'll make the most advancements if you can find more flexibility in your right hand fingers and wrist (not too much) and use a bit more of your elbow rather than shoulder.

Thanks for sharing. I'll give you a badge.

Great to hear from you! @Fiddlerman

I like your feedback. It has enough details for me to know what to work on!

Yay! I've got a badge! Thanks!
