Picklefish: Thanks!
Hi, everyone,
I can't take all the credits for this violin -- Sunny, because it was a nice kit to start with and I have two great assistants -- my husband and my daughter, who helped me made tools and especially my daughter, she helped in almost every step of the whole process including tightening clamps, taking off clamps, varnishing, reaming peg holes, and shaving pegs. Just like how she helped made her own Halloween costume:)

I love the fact that your daughter helped make her own violin. Very cool.
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

She is very proud of it and she treasures Sunny much more than she treasured her 1/4 size cecilio 500, not just because she is older but also because of the "ownership of building it."
Thanks, fiddlerman, I am working on getting sound samples here as soon as I can.

I have been trying to post Sunny's sound samples but audacity totally distorted its sound, so I decided to use mpeg and it took longer and the files were too big, so I had to try different way to reduce the file size. Any way, I am posting several sound samples of Sunny here, one when it was white, one when it was first completed and strings being stretched for a week, one when it has been played for three weeks.
When it was white I strung it up with the steel strings that came with the kit. It has Dominant strings right now.
Please bear with my daughter's playing, she is still getting used to a bigger violin so if she played out of tune, that's why. I had her play the same song -- Two Grenadiers by Robert Schumann from Suzuki book 2 (song #7) to be fair. However, I forgot to have her play a two octaves G major scale (so you could hear the G string as well) on all samples.

Darn, I hate the way media gets handled on this plugin. For me they all open at once and take a while to load. In the meanwhile, you could upload them to Youtube instead, make it private if you like, and embed them here. Thanks
I will and am trying to upload the video clips on youtube, haven't done it since the last time I post my progress here about two years ago:P Even converting my video clips into Mpeg4 format took me awhile (several days).
To be honest, audacity distorted Sunny's voice quite a bit (made it sound more like my daughter's 1/4 size violin), mpeg4 is better, but still could not show Sunny's best voice:(

Fiddlerman and all,
I am not familiar with media, so even converting my video clips into mpeg4 format took me a while, even though I had done it so I could post here about a couple of years ago. Posting it on youtube is the same, so please bear with me:)
I hope this time it works.

Just wonder if anyone noticed any differences among the white violin, one week after set up, and three-week sound samples? If I remember and if any one is interested I will post another sample in the future, like three months and/or six months, one year sample:)
@fiddlerman: Do you have Tone Rite? Could I borrow it? Just kidding:p
