Great update, Steve, and amazing progress. Any chance we'll get a sound sample when it's done, pretty please?

I wish I had Mack’s eye for color.  The finish retouch on the edge repairs was perfect.

the powdered stains we bought are amazing. We mixed the brown with alcohol as the carrier,  the colors seem to be made for violins.  Mix with a little alcohol, if it’s too light, let it dry and second coat, third if necessary, if you get it too dark, wipe it down with alcohol.  I used them to blacken the grout on the mosaic.

I was looking at my down loaded photos came came across two involving a bow spline saw jig.  Hope that they are of some use.D74E8A0A-2EBB-48C3-ADDE-1B948D98EAB8.jpegImage EnlargerAC40CAE0-9E33-4099-83E3-6C639FCFE309.jpegImage Enlarger

Hi @steveduf and others.  I am looking to inexpensively increase my knowledge of German violin bows without much expense.  I figured the purchase of damaged bows would also allow me some experience in repair.  Came across this one.  Requested, and received, about a 60 % discount from asking price.  Figured on using a spline joint using a jig similar to above.94B9DD9A-6814-4A3A-8A4B-10BD75FE4DCE.jpeg
