the powdered stains we bought are amazing. We mixed the brown with alcohol as the carrier, the colors seem to be made for violins. Mix with a little alcohol, if it’s too light, let it dry and second coat, third if necessary, if you get it too dark, wipe it down with alcohol. I used them to blacken the grout on the mosaic.

Hi @steveduf and others. I am looking to inexpensively increase my knowledge of German violin bows without much expense. I figured the purchase of damaged bows would also allow me some experience in repair. Came across this one. Requested, and received, about a 60 % discount from asking price. Figured on using a spline joint using a jig similar to above.
