Hey guys, if you havent heard about these strings you need to check them out. The new amber E string features a spiral in the string (looks like a spring) that apparently cures all whistling, harshness, and lowers the tension creating new characteristics that are complimentary on some violins.
Hopin if people show some interest maybe Pierre can start carrying them. As of now Ive only seen them sold by the manufacturer in Europe.

Thanks for the information!
I just bought a Kaplan non-whistle E string and haven't put it on yet, so after I tried KNW E string I will give Warchal Amber E string a try because I don't like my D'addario pro-arte E string. So I checked it out and found that gostrings.com carries it. $9.00 but not sure if it's free shipping. I mostly bought my strings from Amazon.com because of the free shipping, but they don't carry it.

Just had a look.
You can buy the Warchal Amber E string on eBay for around $9 plus post
But as you say, it would good if Fiddlerman carried them in the shop.
I may give one a try in the near future. It would be nice to have an E that performs well.
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of ..... What was I saying????

I think if you ordered it from the website I mentioned, if you purchase strings only for over USD 20, you will get free shipping, for international it might be higher.
I usually buy strings from amazon.com because of their free shipping (which cut down the cost, even though their price might be a little higher) and I have certificates and credit card points for amazon.com but Yes, it would be nice if FM carries them; it is always nice to purchase violin or strings from dealer you know and have great service.

I tried two weeks ago to order the Amber set but was told they've temporarily suspended distribution of the Amber E to the U.S. and Austria because of a patent dispute with one of their competitors. So I ordered the Warchal Karneol set instead (from FM, of course). I had been using the steel core strings that came on the violin when I purchased it. I wanted to change to synthetic so I went with the Karneols. I'm so glad I did. They are much more mellow and so easy to play. They do take a little time to settle in, but that was expected. Overall, I really like them a lot. The tension on these is a lot lighter than the old ones and suddenly I can play the fourth finger with ease. And double stops seem so much easier too. And for a brief moment today, I was actually starting to get a little vibrato. I haven't been able to do that yet. Been trying like crazy, but just not getting there. So I'm going to blame it all on those crappy steel core strings. Yep. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Me? Getting better? Bwahahahaha! The thought never crossed my mind. Seriously, though, vibrato is something I struggle with. After watching tons of videos and trying each one's technique, I was about to give up trying. Then when I put new strings on, I was doing a bunch of different exercises and things just to get a feel for the strings and to see how different everything felt and sounded. And without even thinking about it, I was getting vibrato. But then I lost it. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the strings other than I was excited to have them! Or maybe they're my new good luck charm. LOL.

Just figured I'd revisit this to give everyone an update if they are still curious about the amber E.
Still doesnt whistle as much as others I've tried but I think the effects do wear off rather quick considering the tension that is applied to the spring looking part.
Then again I only paid like 7 bucks for it. I could probably find the website I ordered from if anyone is interested. I believe they were based in New Jersey.
