Why a pasted URL ends up a YouTube video display, instead of text, is beyond my limited knowledge (but it is nice).

If you are talking about the actual YouTube screen showing up in your post, that makes so much scrolling down and refreshing necessary, that is due to the way it is posted.

If you use the option in the text box menu bar, you will get text. That is the way I do it. I pop in the address in the address box. Then I delete the information it automatically places in the box, the address, and insert text as to how I want it displayed in the post. Check out the forum assistance for posting videos and photos.

From the post mentioned in the above paragraph:

Alternatively, you can add your text, then a space or return. Up in the menu bar above the text box is a link, click the link, paste the URL to the top rectangle. Below the top rectangle, you can type text that you want displayed for the link. It is automatically filled in with the link address. You can delete that and type in something more descriptive, if you want, ie the title of the song. Click OK. Instead of the YouTube screens appearing in your post, the text you chose to display will be shown.

I hope this helps. You can center that text so it is more visible in your post.

@Mouse -

Sorry, this was all Greek to me before!

I had been trying to use the "add link", but just figured out why I was having a problem.

This better help A LOT, cause I'm going back thru & change ALL my YouTube videos!

@ELCBK You don't have to go back and change all the video links you posted. How will you ever have time to entertain us with new ones?! If you are insistent in doing that, would you like me to help out when I run across one?

@Mouse -

Thanx, but you have a new fiddle to play and I'm the one with sleepless nights - just may take me a few days. (lol)

My fault for not figuring it out sooner. 🙄

Remember, you do not have to do that. If you want help, you know where to find me. Congrats on the badge.

If you post a link so that a still from a youtube video appears, that doesn't download the entire video. I just downloaded a page of the Indian thread and the whole came to 2.4 MB. Whereas that volcano brain gif on its own is 2.5 MB if you detach it, whereas it's only about 400KB if you refresh the page, so I'm puzzled.

And two other very slow websites are FB and Wikipedia.

FB you can understand with all the garbage videos and stuff there, but Wiki?
