I have always had problems with captcha and logging on and so on, so this morning I requested a password change at logon.
What I found after trial and error was that the password change subroutine accepted my 19-character password, but the logon subroutine cuts off at 17 characters and so told me my password was wrong. Eventually I chose a password with fewer than 18 characters.
Those of you with password systems that generate long passwords need to know that 17 is the limit, but also it is a definite forum software bug that needs to be reported by the moderators or @Fiddlerman . This is not the first site where I have met this particular bug.
Since my new password is contrary to my usual system, I won't be able to remember it after Christmas, lol!

So the system is automated and developed by the software developers. I can always reach out to them, or make suggestions to the the developers. But is your issue more or less solved now?
No-one will have issues as long as their passwords are less than 18 characters. If the software developers invite comment from clients, report the bug to them.
