OK, great help. I'm also considering the difficulty and number of parts....
I like where this is going so I'll hold off for even more input.

I am thinking more in the line of White Christmas right now. So much opportunity for dynamics and vibrato (for those working on it), slow bowing, etc. A lot of what has been asked about lately. No rushing with any of it and using it with a familiar song. Much easier and more productive to use these techniques to reinforce with a familiar tune. A group project is a great way to put it all to use, especially the first few times.

Based on earlier choices, I would vote for O Come O Come Ye Emmanual. I must admit I have not had the energy to pick up the viola since the last group project. Top of my mind but never finding the time. I feel I have lost a lot of ground and am not sure how to, or where to start up again. A tune that I am familiar with makes it much easier. But without a doubt, what every you chose will be phenomenal. Thanks @SharonC for sending me a note.

@Ripton - I don't think you have ever missed a project, so you will HAVE to pick it up now. 😉

How about, this be the last "reply" to this thread so that the poll is not paged over and no longer visible. Do not reply to this post with a yes or no. If replies are made, the poll will scroll out of sight,

Please cast your vote for your favorite of these three pieces. I looked carefully at what you all had to say and chose the top 3.

  • Wexford Carol
  • O Come O Come Ye Emmanuel

The poll, limited to 3, was a great idea, Fiddlerman!

Not yet Ripton. I'll write the arrangement and try to find the easiest key for everyone.

I am now leaning towards the key of C. Starting on an E.
