I think of it as a four part theme first with the notes from the chords then transpose for our viola and cello players. . .
Not sure if this is helpful to imagine the sound balance, but here’s the same draft with the 3rd part transposed down to Viola, & the 4th part to Cello, with some balancing between the parts.
Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.

I absolutely love this!!! When the draft was posted, I immediately played through all four parts on my violin and it’s lovely. I also like the timing nuances in Part 1.
Thank you @Fiddlerman for the swift, smooth selection of the Christmas 2022 piece and the very quick posting of the draft.
I think everyone needs to relax and have faith, as always, in Fiddlerman Pierre’s talent, expertise, and commitment in creating and producing another spectacular group project. This will shine when real musicians play real music on real instruments with real expression and a professional mix.

I agree, Pierre always delivers a great GP!
I'm looking forward to the final draft.
I do apologize for my obtrusiveness in this thread - not the place for me to indulge in my unconventional way of learning. ...so deleted my one post.
The discussion piqued my curiosity enough that I spent the last couple days discovering more about Renaissance music; it's chord progressions, counterpoint, harmony, cadences, etc... and changes leading into Baroque. It helped me get closer to understanding why I like this music.
THANK YOU ALL! 🤗
