Thanks guys but I want those of you that have been working on it to come with concrete suggestions. I can give you my suggested tempo but it won't be what you guys want. I'm wondering how the project will go if there is not more involvement. Thanks

I tried a few different tempos on my iPhone metronome, and out of all the timings , 120 @ 6/8 seems the best. As the music is written in 6/8 I'm guessing that's fixed. So 120 ( or 130 ) would get my vote

Sounds super slow. Are we really talking about playing eighth notes at 120? You guys probably mean 120 in 2 right? 3 eighth notes per beat.

Hm! duncecap Now i'm confused.. I was talking about this:

120.jpg

And the same princip i used when recorded the video with 90 bpm. I thought FiddlerMan used tempo 120 in this mp3:

Please, correct me if i'm wrong, because now i don't know in what tempo i played all this before facepalm

Ithinkwebothare?
120=BPM, so 1 beat=1/2second.
6 beats per bar and the 1/8 note =1 beat = 1/2 second.
Is this correct? Does it make sense?

Hmm... duncecap

I set metronom on 120bpm, and time signature 2 beats. So You have 2 beats per measure on speed 120bpm.

Why 2 beats? :

As we have a dotted quarter = 3/8. Then we have 2 beats per measure, because measure = 6/8. It counts like /1-2-3, 4-5-6/, if You count 1/8. And 1-2 if You count dotted quarters... I counted like this dunno It seems to be wrong? dazedembarassed

Think of it this way, you count 1 and 2 and 1 and 2, each set of 3 1/8 notes is a beat so there are 2 beats per measure. So for a tempo of 120 you set your metronome on 2 beats, and if you set a subdivision of 6, because you can play 6 1/8 notes per measure, then you can see how fast 120 is.

ONLY if we are playing it in 6 which means that the tempo would be SUPER slow.

We are discussing playing it in 2 (3 8ths per beat) Just like the tempo marking says in the beginning of the piece as Naska pasted above.
I felt like a dotted quarter = 120 might be too fast for everyone who is participating though it is probably a proper tempo

Not wrong Naska. Very good. There are always two options of counting 6/8
Either you count it in 6 or in 2

From now on let's make suggestions only for the tempo in 2 OK? thumbs-up

Here is the first attempt at a click track.

Please test it out and let me know if you can handle the tempo. Here is the file address is you would like to save it to your computer:

Right click or control click for Mac on the link and choose save link as... pick a location such as your desktop and bingo.....

https://fiddlerman.com/wp-cont.....-Click.mp3

If it is too fast for the majority I will slow it down. PLEASE help me out with this. I feel like there is far too little participation in this project to make it worth while.

Next time I will pick something much easier but this project is already in the making.

Thanks exactly

Thanks, FM. I'll try it out and let you know.

Edit: I tried it out playing part 5 and I got to measure 73 when the track ended. Second try I got to 95. I'm too slow.

Thanks to my lack of uniterrupted practice time I can't make it to the end without any major SNAFUs. dazed

Good work. I wish I could imitate your deliberate style, I might progress faster.

Good start DL and thanks for being the first one to post.

A couple things to keep in mind early in the game. Your dotted half notes equal the 6 mini beats as you are doing but the bars that only have a single note should be the same length. You play them twice as long. Kind of hold up on those bars. Every bar has 6 eighth note beats.

Also, you are playing a B natural instead of Bb.
Keep up the great work.exactly

I would love to participate but I think I'm too much of a beginner! I checked the click track and it might help a lot but I'm unsure if I could manage to play the notes at the right places serenade

The tempo is very much up for discussion. I unfortunately only got feed-back from a few people. I don't know what to expect from this. Please everyone, help me out here.

When is the deadline? I quit working on it because I was struggling with it, but I will give it another try.
