I LOVE Japanese Folk Music/Dances/Festivals, but never thought of listening to their Classical Composers.
WARNING: CRITTER ALERT!
The 1st one I wanted to share, is Takashi Yoshimatsu - a VERY COOL, Japanese Classical Composer! And, he seems to have a 'thing' about BIRDS! ...but, not in all his music - just in 20+ pieces. (lol)
Some are for Chamber Orchestra, Symphony and Solo instruments - Violins are used in most of his pieces - even many Solos!
This one is positively dreamy! Four movements, performed by the BBC Philharmonic (Rique Borges).
This one fills me with wonder! Three movements, performed by the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra. Outstanding info in the description (Sergio Cánovas).
I don't want to list ALL the 'BIRD' pieces Yoshimatsu has done, because he's done many other noteworthy compositions! Large and small, jazzy, some electronic, great Guitar & even a Unicorn piece!
I'll just stick to short & dreamy for this post. 😊
CELLO! VIOLA! VIOLIN! HARP!
This will be my new meditation music! "White Landscapes" is in three movements, strings & flute, performed by the Manchester Camerata. Also great video description info (Sihyeon Choe). Video Sheet Music!
CELLO! VIOLA! VIOLIN! HARP!
One last small piece to dream with (kamui chikap).
Short Yoshimatsu pieces, with TIME CHANGES, in this thread!

💖 THANK YOU SO MUCH - for inspiring me to search out the Classical Cool!

...can't decide if I want to try a slow piece 1st, or something with the Time Changes!
