Hello all, I just bought my first violin through fiddlershop, and I'm trying to learn to play on my own with help from this site and others. I've played piano and guitar for 30 years, and I can play a little on various other instruments (mandolin, ukulele, euphonium, harmonica) I've only had the violin for a few days, but none of the instruments I've played are nearly as challenging! I instantly have even more respect for violin players now. Just playing mary had a little lamb with decent intonation is going to be a huge accomplishment!
Here's my question - I ordered a 4/4 Cecilio cvn-200. It's the first violin I've ever tried, so I have no point of reference, but it seems a bit small. The body is 13" and the overall length is 22". From what I've read here and on other sites, is the body should be closer to 14". I'm kind of hoping they accidentally sent me a 3/4 because my fat fingers would appreciate a longer neck
If nobody knows for sure, I'll contact the shop.
Thanks!
Justin
