Been poking around in the area of Jazz for a while - there are so many styles. 

I found a video I hope ALL new violinists, violists and cellists will watch for inspiration!

Here's a remarkable performance/demonstration by Jazz violinist Regina Carter & her Quintet.  "Non-traditional repertoire, improvisation, and musical styles you would not expect to hear from a jazz ensemble." 

I've set this video to start half way through, where she demonstrates what a violin is capable of, but the rest of the program is definitely worth watching!

Btw, if you watch from the beginning, there is a glitch between the 1st & 2nd minute, so skip it.
