Hi, everyone! All time I studied violin was with classical music, and now I'm trying to learn the fiddle style, but I'm having problems with it. I'm not figuring out how do I make those dinamics, that characterystic sound of fiddling. Can anyone help me with some tips to begin fiddling?

I read somewhere that fiddling can't be based on the sheet music, the most of the fiddling comes from the improvisation. If that's true, how can I improve the improvisation? And which are the techniques most used on fiddling?

The best thing you can do to learn these styles is to listen, listen and listen.
Also the best way to learn to jam is to listen and analyze the chords and scales. Practice scales and arpeggios in different keys.

As far as country, old time, bluegrass and so forth, I am not the best person to give advice, but I try. LOL
