@Taper123 Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a listen :) My teacher has me starting to go through the Complete Irish Fiddle Player, and my homework song right now is The Walls of Liscarroll, and beginning to work on vibrato. But I always like to find something else to work on along with my homework, and she encourages me to move ahead on things when I want to, to challenge myself. The first few songs in this book she wants me to go through one by one to learn their fingering and bowing tricks, and then I can start skipping around again, lol.

@Taper123 That song is lovely :)

I do like my teacher a lot. I think she likes that I search YouTube for new songs to learn, and I could tell she was excited when I came in the one lesson after learning Harvest Home, that's what made us quit using Essential Elements and move on to the Irish fiddle book.

I'm on vacation from work next week, so I'm skipping my lesson, so I'd like to pick an extra song to work on so that I don't look like I was slacking in my practice when I go back, lol.

Ok, watching this video  I am totally jealous of the reach she has in her fingers. My teacher has been teaching me viola player tricks for rolling my hand to reach my stubby fingers, especially my pinky. I wish I had longer fingers, lol.

A few more minutes and It'll be Friday here :)

Time for some more electric violin, with a touch of pizzicato playing.   Late at night I use the electric violin  but in the mornings I open the doors and windows and use the acoustic.   Hopefully the neighbors no longer think someone is performing unmentionable atrocities on cats anymore as the sounds have improved :)

@coolpinkone

If you thought the blue violin she was playing was nice....  then this version of it is on a whole different level...

I gotta stop looking at electric violin videos, or I'm gonna end up getting an effects pedal...  Uh oh... I hear amazon calling my name...

Been on a electric violin kick lately, but time for my lesson in a few hours...  so needed some acoustic to get motivated to practice.   Lately it's been all Martha, Martha, Martha on my video's...   so let's play some more Martha  :)

Here's an interesting video...  She recorded  herself at various times of learning and pieced them together for a two year progress video.

She seems familiar. Does anyone recognize her from here on the site?

Also, appears to be a Lindsay Stirling fan. :)

Great idea with the video.

I don't personally recognize her, but she does list your tutorials as being one of the ways she has learned to play, so I wondered if she was around on here, either now or at some point.

Yeah, I don't recognize her either, but I like the progress she's made. Got to be practicing a good deal. I really liked her bow work at 1 year, 10 mos.

Awesome video.

It's a great video for showing new players that they can be playing well after not way too much time. Happy she did it. :)
