@Fiddlestix I too wish you the best.

I get to take someone to a doctors office every Thursday for the last couple of months that treats people for various conditions that require short/long term care.  While all are still strangers that we have short casual conversations with, it's hard not to care.  Some you see making progress, some seem the same each week, and others you can just watch deteriorate.   The one common thing I see is that those with a positive attitude handle the situation the best.  No one wants to see the results of a horrific accident, or what a staph infection can do, but we can do our best to support those around us.

Time to practice some before going to work, so might as well watch a video to uplift my spirits and motivate me as well :)

It's almost Friday... And it's Friday in other places in the world.

A dear friend shared this with me on Tuesday... This is a beautiful orchestra arrangement.

@Fiddlestix,

I'm so sorry to hear that.  My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.  You know I started to play the fiddle as a tribute to my late husband?  Here is a happy fiddling video that I have watched hundreds of times.  I love what it represents, happy family, beautiful scenery, good times.  It doesn't matter if you understand the words or not.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

My only problem with that Vanessa Mae video... is that it was not enough of her.   So here's some more :)

LOL @coolpinkone - almost sounded like you were apologizing there - no need whatsoever to do so - re-post Garrett as often as you like !!!   I've had a busy day, although been making the occasional post, but mostly working - I tuned into some Brahms violin concertos I had on CD with Perlman on lead.   Whatever moves you, take it on-board and move with it, I say !

Totally Bill.. I get ya..

FAN RANT!!!!

I love that performance of Garrett.  The story behind me and Garrett... You know he and I have a story.. LOL  (start a rumor)...

I wasn't a fan... I don't know why... I mean... (maybe some of the stick was still..... ) ha ha....

But over time I did more research and saw that he could play some of the classics that I like and wasn't just a rock cover guy... (not that I didn't like all that.. just at the time... I Hilary was my moon and stars... still)

Anyway...Watching David's face as he performs and feels the music is so awesome.  When he plays Over the Rainbow... oh it just really moves me. He dedicated Swan Lake to his mom at a concert and I felt such lovelies lovelies...

So now I am a fan and I am very very moved to watch him.  I thought he did a great job with the Paganini works in The Devils Violinist also...

@Taper123 first - my apologies for "hijacking" your post - but it is all good - and in answer to @coolpinkone - you've almost certainly seen this already -   - but just a short Garrett one - Czardas - what I particularly love about this is the engagement with the audience....  he's known for that - and it "brings people in" so to speak - look at their faces - entranced they are - it is "Zen like" in a way...  almost a separated experience from reality ( I mean for the audience, the people there, listening and watching live - at the MOMENT... )   Super-cool...   It teaches me ( even with my limited experience ) how to "captivate" an audience ( obviously, technique and ability come first... without that it can't be done - but you know what I mean )

And *I* thought I was good managing the occasional "open-string" harmonic - let alone stopped ones... oh well....  give me another 10 years...  LOLOLOL
