In an earlier post I asked how you learnt a new tune.
This time I'm asking how 'you' warm up for a practice session
Myself, I used to run through scales and etudes, but lately I've been running through the G major scale once just to make sure that my brain is still talking to my fingers, and then start to go through my whole repertoire. (it doesn't take very long) and then start the practice on the tune I'm working on.
And you?
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of ..... What was I saying????

It's very nice of you to come up with these questions, as a reminder/guide for beginners.
LOL, I don't have a repertoire yet (currently working on my first tune, if I've ever finished it) so I just pick it up, check the tune, play a couple of note with tuner and then sawing away.

I'm lazy, I just pick it up, check the tune and start playing something I really have stuck in my head.
That is nice to know. I need to get some tunes stuck in my head first to do what you're doing. As for now, I just play few notes and compare them with my tuner to wake up my ears for practicing, lol.

I tune up, do about 5 minutes of bowing open strings. Then 5 min each of "scale of the day" and "rhythm of the day". All of that is done slow, 70 bpm or less. By then I'm warmed up reasonably well, so I'll play whatever I feel like or anything new I am working on for a bit, then take a break to listen to some source pieces and decide what song or sound I am working on for actual practice.

There should not have been any problems with the site today. Please let me know exactly what kind of trouble you are having Ferret? The upgrade was Wed night and the trouble lasted through yesterday afternoon. I was under the impression that I had solved all issues.
Hi FM
All seems OK now. I was having trouble posting and replying but it looks like all the 'bugs' have been taken care of
