Congratulation's on making the switch, Rick. I started the other way around, I started with violin at 4 year's old, then switched to guitar for about 45 year's, now 59 year's later I'm back on violin.

I wish you success and many year's of joy in your new endeavor. Happy fiddlin.

My fingers got a little confused now and then the first couple of days, but after that I've had no problems switching back and forth between guitar and violin/fiddle.  And you are correct, StoneDog, a lot of licks and tricks you know from guitar can be done pretty easy on violin by just fingering them "upside down", as you mentioned.

And think about how big your hands would have to be to reach as many notes on a guitar as you can reach on a violin/fiddle. LOL

The main difference between violin and fiddle is the same difference between champagne and moonshine.cheers
