I am just wondering if my violin is a bit "advanced"

Not that I feel I won't be up to snuff in a matter of time. I won't give her up......

But sometimes I think my violin has a really big deep sound and since I don't know how to appropriately caress the strings to achieve the proper tone, that I sound obnoxious....a bit more obnoxious than the regular beginner.

Does this make sense?

It makes sense but the sound is so much determined by the strings.

Maybe you need softer strings. Less tension. Perhaps Pro-Arte.
