Well, so far I am making good progress studying on my own and using this site. I'm getting my first position playing down and sounding better and better. I am also getting used to the different scales and reading sheet music and playing in the proper key. Although I have been playing on and off since childhood things are really starting to gel and make sense to me. I've also been delving into some of the more advanced techniques and getting vibrato down and playing trills and tremolo. Last night and earlier today I was practicing double stops and they do sound nice. However, getting the proper bow angle to play the 2 strings at once I am finding tricky. Sometimes I get it right and other times I get more bow pressure on one string versus the other. I still need a lot of practice and some hands on lessons as well.
Triple stops ?? I was reading and some say the trick to playing triple stops is to "ring" the lower string and immediately play the two higher strings. seems to make sense but when i tried it the results were less than stellar. Oh well, I am getting ahead of myself. So far this site has helped me immensely with my progress. I'll try and post some video or sound files sometime soon.
