I think there is a chance I might be starting to improve at this I’m not sure though!! The penny is starting to drop that its quite a small motion and I’m trying to get it more in tune and faster like you said Gordon. I’m trying to do half of the d major scale. Also have had the scroll up against my wardrobe door and… it has a mirror on so I can see what I’m doing how lucky is that !! Thank you for your pointers they have helped me for sure 😀just gotta keep going with it.

Have you tried taking you thumb away from the neck completely. This will remove all pressure from the thumb and ensure that you have to relax your hand, its a great exercise and extremely hard to do, but gives you the real feel of vibrato.
I will try to find the teaching vid and post a link.

Excellent tutorial, a lot of people when doing vibrato actually just move their wrist backwards and forwards, I dont include you in this, category which gives the illusion that they are doing it correctly, but is wrong, which is one of the reasons I changed to arm vibrato, I can now do both (DEBATABLE LOL), but prefer arm. ultimately which you go for is up to the individual though

Thanks Stringy I’m having a look! I think every video I’ve looked at on vibrato has helped me and some points have really stuck in my head . I think I am actually getting somewhere it feels much more on the note and beneath but then saying that I’ll probably be back to square one tomorrow as it’s so up and down. Glad to hear you have had success with yours 💪
